Email Marketing: Click Rate
Definition: The percentage of emails sent out to customers or subscribers over a certain period of time that result in a click somewhere within the email body. Segment based on campaign or content to compare email marketing methods.
Discussion: The Click Rate key performance indicator (KPI) is a measure of the effectiveness of your email marketing campaigns. Click Rate is becoming increasingly important as both consumers and businesses begin shifting towards digital products and services, particularly for companies aiming to grow and reach new demographics and/or engage (or re-engage) existing customers. In general, a high Click Rate translates to more traffic, higher revenue and more engaging brand exposure. In addition, it can be an indicator of interest and potential success in a particular product or campaign. On the other hand, a low Click Rate can be a sign that the campaign is operating at a loss and should be readjusted or shelved altogether. Potential solutions to low Click Rate include email redesign, or a more targeted campaign strategy.
